West Point completed the 2016 season with a 6-5 record. With their 4-2 region record and a third place finish in Class 5A region six, the Warriors earned a spot in the playoffs in 2016. West Point's season came to an end in the first round of the playoffs when they fell to Wenonah by a score of 42-8. The Warriors last playoff victory came during the 1994 season. They would love to break through this year with a post season win. Since 2010, West Point has gone a combined 33-40. Their 45.0% winning percentage ranks 29th in Class 5A over the past seven seasons. Over the past 25 seasons, West Point has managed to compile a record of 125-150. Their 46.0% winning percentage ranks 37th in Class 5A and 235th in the AHSAA. The Warriors are led by head coach Don Farley who is entering his fifth season at the helm. He has compiled a record of 23-20 over the past four seasons at West Point. Under his direction the Warriors have qualified for the playoffs a total of three times. They have not won a region crown with Coach Farley. Coach Farley's overall record as a head football coach in four season stands at 23-20 (53.5%). The West Point Warriors will play in Class 5A region six during the 2017 season. The Warriors will be in the mix for one of the last two playoff spots in region six this season. The Warriors open the 2017 season on the road against non-region opponent Hamilton on Friday, August 25 at Joe Sargent Stadium. Last year the Hamilton Aggies finished with an overall record of 5-5 and in fifth place in Class 4A region six. The Aggies closed out the regular season with a loss to Rogers by a score of 42-28. West Point and Hamilton have met a total of 4 times on the football field. The Warriors have a 1-3-0 record against the Aggies. They last met in 2016 with Hamilton winning by a score of 14-10.
